Biography of Ken DeMile

Sifu Ken DeMile

Auburn, Washington

Ken is the owner and chief instructor of DeMile Martial Arts training gym for Wing Chun Do Gung-Fu, MMA, Military Combatives, Fitness Boot camps, personal training and USA Boxing.

Ken is a black belt and certified instructor for Wing Chun Do Gung-Fu under Sijo James DeMile, an original student of Bruce Lee from the Seattle period.

Ken is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Professor Saulo and Xande Ribeiro.

Ken is the founder of Cardio Self-DefenseTM (CSD). CSD delivers high energy fitness boot camps that integrate intense strength, aerobic, and self-defense training systems, which are designed to accelerate fat loss and increase conditioning in a rapid time frame.

Ken is the Founder of DeMile Technologies, LLC, a hardware and software development company for martial arts, sports, law enforcement and military performance diagnostic solutions.


Krav Maga Certified Instructor (KM)   KM is the official hand to hand combat system of the Israeli military. KM has become the program of choice for law enforcement world wide as well as many branches of the US military.

Special Forces Combatives Certified Instructor (SFC)   SFC, originally the Green Beret combat system, was developed to enhance the close quarter combat capabilities of Military Special Forces. SFC is an elite training organization developed by current and former members of U.S. Special forces, SAS and Seal Team members and world renowned martial artists.

USA Certified Boxing Coach authorized to teach Olympic rules boxing.

Washington State University certified Ropes Course trainer and guide.   Ken has conducted team building and Corporate Training for Microsoft, Navy ROTC and numerous organizations.

AFAA American Fitness & Aerobic Association Certified Personal Fitness Trainer.


2015 IBJJF Super Heavyweight Gold Medalist, Seattle Open International Championships.

2008 Scottish Highland Games North American Championships (Masters) 3rd place LT Weight for Distance and 3rd place Sheaf Toss.

2007 Overall winner Bellingham annual CAN-AM Scottish Highland Games men's amateur division winning the Athlete of the Day Cup as well as 2 gold's, 1 silver and 2 bronze medal. First Place in the Sheaf Toss and the Weight for Distance competitions.

In Pattaya, Thailand November 2002 Ken was awarded the Reaction Speed award during Special Forces Combatives Instructors training.

In 1997 Ken was a two-time regional Sports Jiu-jitsu heavyweight champion and in November 1998 Ken was awarded the Bronze Medal in the World Sports Jiu-jitsu Championships.

Teaching experience

Ken has been privileged to instruct Seattle and Shoreline Police Officers, enlisted military and US Special Forces personal,  King County Sheriff's officers, FBI and secret service agents. In 1995 Ken assisted James DeMile in the instruction of the Australian Brisbane Police. Ken has also provided personal security for several clients including the famous author Tom Robbins and other VIP executives.

He has taught personal development, self defense, and fitness training programs in three continents and to organizations such as: Microsoft, Seattle Pacific University, Stroum Jewish Community Centers, Australian Brisbane City Police, Seattle Police, Gold's Gym's, Snohomish Fitness and regional and world champion competitors. He has taught as hundreds of men, women, and children in the US and abroad.


Ken has appeared in "Fighting Times" magazine, "Martial Arts Legends" magazine and Renton, Snohomish, and Auburn newspapers and the Seattle Times.
