The tide has turned for land protection in Massachusetts. According to a recent study by Mass Audubon, we are no longer consuming open space at the rate of 40 acres per day. Within the last decade, Massachusetts has protected twice as much as it developed. For every 22 acres of land we consume per day, we are now protecting 43 acres per day.
